After three years of savings and plannings from our last trip to Europe, this time round we decided to go on a family trip again. Travelling has been one of my family's passion. We always do it like four years once. Depends on our budget. So we have decided to join the Reliance Tour to Spain in April. Unfortunately, there were not enough people and the tour agent had to cancel the trip. And we ended up joining the Scandinavian Tour which includes Sweden, Norway and Denmark. I can say, we've been to most places in Europe. London, Paris, Switzerland, Germany, Rome, Belgium, Austria. My dad had the chance to study in England when he started working with Shell and we had the opportunity to follow him there and travel. I guess that's when we started to love to travel. It's not a big deal or a showing off thing to us when people get to know that we travel to most places. It's actually a blessing to us and one way to spend our money after few years of hard work. My parents deserve a holiday....so do their children. hehehehe..
Our journey started on June 5th to KL. We stayed there for one night at Empress Hotel, Nilai and all we did was lazily lying down on the bed for 2 days! It was too expensive for us to take a cab to the city. The best thing is that we discovered "Keropok Kueh Tiaw" like what we had in Miri but it's Mee Kuching. It tasted good. How i wish they have it here soon. The next day, we waited for the rest of our tour mate and also our tour guide at KLIA. It's kinda exciting to know who we travelled with. Kalau kena yang banyak songeh.. it will be unlucky for us. But thank God, everyone seems to be very friendly. Half of our group are from Kuching and surprisingly they are from St. Thomas Cathedral, Church. Mom also found out that one of our group member was his ex-colleague's brother. What a small world huh. The rest of them are teachers from Penang, some from PD and a family from Penang as well. Did i mention no cute guys in our tour group? yeah.. no cute guys.
After checking in, we had our treat at the Executive Lounge. Free meal, free internet access, free MASSAGE! heheh.. Forget about that! we didnt have the time for the massage. Our flight to Bangkok took us about an hour and 40 mins. Transit for 3 hours and according to the schedule, we are to get on board at 1am to Stockholm, Sweden. 10 hours flight isnt that bad compared to our last trip to London. Our double decker Thai Airway isnt that good as our MAS Airlines. But they have nice food and good entertainment. Sharon and I were laughing our lungs out trying to understand their English. hehee.. oh i did do the "sawadekrap" to the stewardess. hehehe.. (Cute but fun). I managed to survive the 10 hours flight with not-so-sore-butt.
Arrived Stockholm at about 8am. The first thing i did was taking a deep breathe.. Enjoying the 16°C cool air which i missed for 3 years. And there was our coach waiting for us with our not-so-friendly driver, Kaido.. but he's fine at times. Mood swing *whispers* (maybe he's on his PMS mode). We headed straight on to the city our our city tour. From Sweden to Norway and to Denmark. You can view all the pictures on my Facebook. Words cant describe how beautiful those places are. 11 Days, 10 different hotels, 1 Cruise overnight ride, 11 different meals, 1 Same breakfast meal every single day with some different varieties in each countries. Norway is famous with their Salmon and Caramel Cheese and Denmark is famous for their Danish Puff/Rolls. We also had the chance to meet my cousin, Beverley and her family in Copenhagen. the last time we met was 6 years ago in KL and Rebecca was only 1 year old at that time. And now she's a grown up pretty little girl and an additional girl to their family. 6 month old, Ayla.
It was hard to say goodbye on our last day of our tour as usual and all we had was good memories with each other. We even did plan to go on the next trip together again if it happens. hehehe..
If everything goes smooth and well for the next few years, Turkey, Istanbul will be our next family's trip destination. *US will always be one of my must to go*
